← Session 3 — Project kickoff: RH blueprint, staged workflow + archive design
thinking (3827 chars)
Good — resources are here. Now build the archive structure. Create directories and starter files:
1. STATE.md
2. research/journal/session-001.md (or leave journal empty, create on first work session — better to create a template + session-001 placeholder)
3. research/results/index.md
4. research/graveyard/index.md
5. research/derivations/index.md
6. research/numerics/scripts/ and data/ (with README-ish index? Avoid README files unless requested — user asked for this system so index files are fine)
7. research/paper/draft.tex + references.bib
8. Update NGUYEN.md §8 with session protocol + archive layout
9. git init + .gitignore (exclude .venv) + initial commit
User explicitly asked for this, so creating files is warranted. Keep files lean but useful — templates with clear schemas.
Let me write files. Do multiple Write calls in parallel, then git init and commit in one Bash call.
NGUYEN.md edit: update section 8 Session Log to add protocol, and add a section on archive. I need to read NGUYEN.md first — it's in context already from system reminder. But Edit tool requires Read first in conversation. The system-reminder showed contents. The Edit tool requires the Read tool... it says "You must use your Read tool at least once in the conversation before editing." I read RHC-Prompt.txt but not NGUYEN.md. The edit will error if old_string lies outside portion read. Safer to Read NGUYEN.md first.
Let me plan STATE.md content:
```markdown
# STATE.md — NGUYEN-RH-1 Resume Point
Last updated: 2026-08-17 | Session: 001 (initialization)
## CURRENT POSITION
Phase 0 — Initialization & Ingestion. Archive system installed.
## COMPLETED
- [x] Project blueprint (NGUYEN.md)
- [x] Mission prompt ingested (RHC-Prompt.txt)
- [x] Research archive structure + session protocol installed
- [x] Git repository initialized
## IN PROGRESS
(none)
## NEXT ACTION
Begin Phase 0.1: parse Notes.txt; index quantum equations for Track B → research/derivations/quantum-formalism-index.md
## OPEN CONJECTURES / THREADS
(none yet)
## BLOCKERS
(none)
## PENDING CHECKLIST (Phase 0)
- [ ] 0.1 Parse Notes.txt ... etc
```
Actually the checklist is in NGUYEN.md; STATE.md shouldn't duplicate fully — just point. Keep it lean.
results/index.md:
```markdown
# Result Ledger
| # | Claim | Tag | File | Date | Dependencies |
| 0 | ≥2/3 zeros simple & on-line (inherited) | [PROVED] (R2) | — (paper Thm A) | 2026-08-17 | Anthropic paper |
```
Result file template — include in results/index.md as a schema section, or a TEMPLATE.md? Keep one template file maybe. Keep it simple: put schema in index.md.
graveyard/index.md similar.
derivations/index.md: list of worked derivations.
paper/draft.tex: minimal skeleton with sections matching expected paper structure.
journal/session-001.md: log of this session's work (archive setup).
Numerics: create scripts/ and data/ dirs with .gitkeep? Git doesn't track empty dirs. Add a small index.md in numerics explaining the CSV+JSON convention. That also serves as documentation.
NGUYEN.md §8 update — replace Session Log section with protocol + log.
Also save memory: project memory about multi-session constraint & archive protocol? The protocol will be documented in NGUYEN.md, which is auto-loaded — so per rules, don't duplicate in memory. But user preference (works in stages, shuts down computer, wants nothing redone, values detailed documentation) — that's a user/feedback memory worth saving since it shapes behavior beyond what's in files... Actually it's in NGUYEN.md after my edit. Hmm. The memory rules say don't save things documented in NGUYEN.md. The archive protocol will be there. But the *why* (user works in stages, shuts down) is user context worth a small user memory. I'll save one brief user memory and index it.
Let me do the work. First Read NGUYEN.md.
All resources are in place. Building the archive now.
