Rewrite the S-computation section. Replace S_sing/S_table with direct piecewise Gauss-Legendre quadrature of g. Keep the table-based path? No — replace entirely. Keep brute_force_entry for the check (it uses G_TAB — table; that introduces table noise into the CHECK... the check tolerance 1e-3 — fine, brute force is independent path).
Plan the new code:
```python
# von Mangoldt + cumsums (as in E-009a)
def mangoldt_sieve...
N_MAXG = int(np.exp(10.0)) + 2 # T_MAXG global = 10
...
def g_float(t): # vectorized numpy, t >= 0 array
t = np.asarray(t, float)
g = -4*(np.exp(t/2)+np.exp(-t/2)-2)
g += prime_sum_vec(t)
g += DIG_COEFF * t # digamma coeff precomputed
# lerch combination
out = np.empty_like(t)
fast = t > 0.35
if fast.any():
z = np.exp(-2*t[fast])
out[fast] = -0.25*(PHI1 - np.exp(-t[fast]/2)*lerch_phi2_fast(z))
if (~fast).any():
mp.dps = 25
for i in np.flatnonzero(~fast):
ti = mp.mpf(float(t[i]))
out[i] = float(-0.25*(mp.lerchphi(1,2,mp.mpf(1)/4) - mp.exp(-ti/2)*mp.lerchphi(mp.exp(-2*ti),2,mp.mpf(1)/4)))
g += out
g[t == 0] = 0.0
return g
```
Gauss-Legendre: use numpy.polynomial.legendre.leggauss(12).
def S_exact(k, h): window [lo,hi] = [(k-1)h, (k+1)h] for k>=1; k=0 special.
kinks = log n for n with lo < log n < hi: n from ceil(exp(lo)) to floor(exp(hi)).
sub-intervals; GL nodes: x = mid + half*nodes; weights.
integrand: (h - |s|) g(t) with s = t - kh: weight = h - |t - kh|.
return sum.
For k=0: 2*∫₀^h (h−t)g(t)dt with kinks log n in (0,h): n=2 if h > log2 (h≤0.01 < 0.693, so no kinks for our h values; but log n for n=2.. at h=0.01: none ✔). Still handle generally.
Vectorize: gather all GL nodes across sub-intervals, single g_float call per S(k)... or even batch across all k? Number of nodes total ~ N_k × ~60 = 120k — batch per k is fine (2000 calls of g_float on ~60 points each — plus mpmath for t<0.35 nodes: nodes with t ≤ 0.35 occur only for k ≤ 70 (h=0.005): 70×60 = 4200 mpmath lerchphi — each ~1ms → ~5s per config. Acceptable.
But wait — mpmath lerchphi caching: for repeated configs (h-convergence), recompute each time; fine.
Update the checks:
- entries_vs_brute_force stays (tolerance 1e-3; brute force from table — the table itself is the noisy element; the check now compares accurate vs table-brute-force — expect ~1e-6-level relative differences on small entries... q entries ~0.011 for k=0: table noise 1e-6 abs → rel 1e-4 ✔ passes 1e-3).
- positivity: min generalized eigenvalue ≥ −1e-7 (documented noise floor). Actually with accurate S, expect ≥ −1e-9. Set check: min_eig > -1e-7 and report value.
- Also add check: v^T Q v for the sin test function ≈ 2.437e-4 (the zero-side value) — a strong absolute validation! tolerance 1e-6 relative... Q form value from matrix: 2.434e-4 matched zero side to 1.2e-3 relative. Set tol 2e-3 relative.
Rewrite the whole script file for cleanliness. Keep structure/conventions. Also update description/caveats. Also record the sin-test Rayleigh value in key_values.
One more thing: eigenvalues expected ~1e-6-ish bottom — the interesting output is λ_1(a) trend. And compare with log(1/a)+O(1) (Thm 1.4) — record.
Let me rewrite the file now.
Rewriting the script with exact piecewise-quadrature S(k) and an absolute validation check against the known Weil-form value.

Q form value from matrix: 2.434e-4 matched zero side to 1.2e-3 relative. Set tol 2e-3 relative. \n\nRewrite the whole script file for cleanliness. Keep structure/conventions. Also update description/caveats. Also record the sin-test Rayleigh value in key_values.\n\nOne more thing: eigenvalues expected ~1e-6-ish bottom — the interesting output is λ_1(a) trend.
