Now the leftover goals are visible: `Real.instAddCommGroup = Real.normedCommRing.toAddCommGroup` — instance-equality side goals from `convert` (convert's congruence on the negation/subtraction instances!). These instance goals are closed by `rfl` (they're definitionally equal). So `convert h using 2 <;> ring` failed because ring can't prove instance equalities. The fix: `convert h using 2` leaves e'_4, e'_5 (instances) + presumably the value goal... Actually the remaining goals shown are ONLY instance ones?? If convert left 3 goals: two instance goals + value... The main value goal may have been closed or remains. Standard trick: use `convert h using 2` then close instance goals with rfl — but `<;> ring` failed on them. Common idiom: `convert h using 2 <;> rfl`?? no — the value goal needs ring.
Actually these instance side-goals arise because the subtraction/negation in my stated value uses different typeclass instances than h's. Use `convert h using 3`? No. Better approach: avoid the subtraction in the STATEMENT — restate D1 with `+ (-b) * eB` instead of `- iimB * eB`? The statement uses `- iimA * eA - iimB * eB` (sub). h has `eA * -a + eB * -b` (add of negs). Different instance paths → congruence side conditions.
Simplest: change my statement of hasDerivAt_psiTilde's value to match h's shape more closely, or close instance goals explicitly: convert produces goals in some order; `convert h using 2` then `· rfl · rfl` — but goal order unknown; use `all_goals try rfl` then remaining ring:
`convert h using 2 <;> try rfl <;> ring`? Hmm — `try rfl` on value goal harmless, instance goals closed, then ring on value ✓. But sequencing: `<;>` applies the whole chain to each goal — `try rfl <;> ring`: for instance goal: rfl closes, ring runs on no goals — ERROR "no goals"?? `<;>` semantics: (try rfl <;> ring) — try rfl succeeds (possibly closing), then ring runs on the resulting goals — if rfl closed it, ring gets no goals → error? In Lean4, `t1 <;> t2` runs t2 on all goals produced by t1 — if t1 closed all goals, t2 runs on ZERO goals which is fine (vacuous)! The earlier "No goals to be solved" errors were from SEQUENTIAL tactic blocks, not <;> chains. So `convert h using 2 <;> try rfl <;> ring`?? Hmm — if try rfl closes an instance goal, ring on zero goals = ok; on the value goal try rfl fails (no-op), ring runs ✓. Actually cleaner: `<;> first | rfl | ring`? Let me use: `convert h using 2 <;> first | rfl | ring`?? For instance goal: rfl ✓; value goal: rfl fails → ring ✓.
But wait — `Eq.refl` via `rfl` tactic on `Real.instAddCommGroup = Real.normedCommRing.toAddCommGroup` — instance defeq ✓ rfl works.
Apply to both convert sites (hasDerivAt_psiTilde and deriv2_psiTilde's h2). Also remove the now-dead `ring` at 1006 (IIMaj_eq_psiTilde_sqrt — rw chain closed it).
`convert` leaves typeclass-instance side goals — close them with `rfl`, keep `ring` for the value goal.
